Having children is a wonderful thing, but it can also wreak havoc on your body. At one point in time, you had to suck it up and deal with it, but now you have so many more options. After women are done having children, many of them are turning to plastic surgery to help get their pre-baby body back. At Cincinnati Plastic Surgery, we’re proud to offer the mommy makeover procedure, a package of plastic surgery procedures designed to help moms get back their bodies once they’re done having kids.
Procedures Included in the Mommy Makeover
Each person is different, so the procedures included in a mommy makeover will be different. However, some of the more common procedures included in a mommy makeover include breast augmentation, liposuction, butt augmentation, and a tummy tuck. Additionally, other procedures may be included in the mommy makeover, but you’ll have to talk those over with Dr. Martin. Included with the breast augmentation may be a breast reduction. The scope of work during your mommy makeover will be decided during your pre-surgical consultation with Dr. Martin, so remember to be upfront about the procedures and scope of work you want completed.
What Happens After Pregnancy
During and after pregnancy, your body naturally goes through many different changes. Typically, the skin across your stomach is stretched. Even with consistently working out, it may be hard to return to your pre-baby body. That’s where the help from plastic surgery procedures helps. Depending on the types of procedures performed with your mommy makeover, you’ll notice a return to the way your body was prior to giving birth. Additionally, if you breastfeed your baby, your breasts get larger while the tissue decreases. A mommy makeover procedure will help your breasts go back to how they were before your baby
When Should I Get a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover is most effective when you have the procedure when you’re done with having children. However, if you do get pregnant after the mommy makeover, you will probably need the procedures done again after the birth of the new baby. That’s why it’s recommended you wait on having the mommy makeover procedure until you’re done having children.
Is Everything Done During One Procedure?
If the amount of time you’ll spend in surgery is worrying to you, rest assured it’s a worry of many other people. During a mommy makeover, each of the procedures are done in one surgical setting. This means you’ll only need to go under anesthesia once. However, it’s hard to say how long the surgery will be, as different patients choose different procedures. Dr. Martin has done many mommy makeover procedures over the years, so you know you have a doctor who’s performed all the procedures many times.
You have many options when it comes to how you look. That shouldn’t change now that you’ve had kids. At Cincinnati Plastic Surgery, we want to help people look and feel their best at all stages of life. If you think a mommy makeover procedure is right for, give our office a call to schedule your consultation now.
