Are you looking for a wrinkle reduction solution? There are many options available for wrinkle reduction. The industry standard is Botox, a dermal filler used to reduce facial wrinkles. At Cincinnati Plastic Surgery, we offer Botox injections, done by our skilled Nurse Injector Kimber. If you’re curious about Botox basics, you aren’t alone. We’ve helped many people achieve a wrinkle free look.
What is Botox
Botox is a specific type of dermal filler and injectable that targets facial wrinkles. When injected, the ingredients in Botox temporarily weaken overworked muscles. In turn, this reduces the appearance of wrinkles on your face. Botox does not add any volume to your face, so if you desire a fuller appearance to your face, you’ll want to turn to some of the other dermal fillers we offer.
What are Treatment Areas
We typically use Botox on areas of the face that have wrinkles or may develop wrinkles over time. Some of the more common areas include the forehead, crow’s feet around the eyes, between the eyebrows, and lip lines. Other places on your face that may benefit from a Botox injection include the chin and at the corner of the mouth to relax frown lines.
Is There Down Time
Because Botox is an injection and isn’t a surgical procedure, there is no down time associated with the injection. Following your injection, you can carry on with your day. It’s important to note that you won’t see the results right away. On average, most of our patients see results within a week or so.
When Should I Get Botox
There’s no real answer as to when you should start Botox treatments. Many people in their 30s and 40s get Botox, as that’s when they start to notice wrinkles. We’ve also noticed people in their late 20s starting to get Botox as a preventative measure against wrinkles. However, there’s no proof that starting Botox at a younger age helps to prevent wrinkles later in life.
How Long Does Botox Last
Botox is not a permanent wrinkle reducer. In general, a Botox treatment lasts about three to four months. After that period, the temporary paralysis on the muscles becomes less effective and wrinkles start to come back. In order to continue reducing the appearance of wrinkles, you’ll want to continue using Botox treatments.
Is Botox Safe
Botox is a safe dermal filler. Even though one of the ingredients is a toxin, the injection is so little that it won’t negatively affect your health. However, only have Botox treatments performed by a professional. Over the years, DIY Botox has become more popular by watching video tutorials. This can result in serious health problems.
